Stock audits that do not depend on the dealer.
Traknova gives floorplan and stock funding lenders daily VIN-level location and mileage on funded units, taken from the vehicle itself. Where a vehicle cannot report, a VIN-verified physical check closes the gap. Funders and dealers each get their own portal, so your view updates the moment stock moves.
Every audit you run today goes through the dealer.
Physical audits are a snapshot four times a year. Self-audits are more frequent but the dealer performs them, and the dealer is the party whose behaviour you are verifying. Digital audit tools sped up the process but they did not change that. Someone still walks the forecourt with a phone.
So between visits you are relying on dealer-reported data to tell you whether dealer-held stock is where it should be. Units get sold out of trust. Demonstrators quietly gain thousands of miles. Stock moves site. You find out at the next audit, when the recovery position is worse and the conversation is harder.
Physical audit: four snapshots a year.
Dealer self-audit: as often as the dealer chooses.
Traknova: daily, and nobody at the dealership has to do anything.
Hybrid Stock Audit
Digital where we can. Verified physical where we cannot.
01
Your funded VINs go into the funder portal
A spreadsheet, or a direct feed from your funding system.
02
We pull what the vehicles report
Location, mileage and ignition status straight from the vehicle. No hardware, no installation, nothing asked of the dealer.
03
Uncovered units are flagged automatically
Not every vehicle can report. You see exactly which units are covered digitally and which are not, per VIN, live.
04
Physical checks close the gap
For uncovered units, the dealer photographs the VIN plate in the app. The image is matched against the funded record, geotagged and timestamped, so you get verified evidence the unit was physically present at a specific place and time. Not a tick box, a photograph.
05
Both sides see the same picture
When the dealer updates stock in their portal, your funder portal updates with it. No monthly report to chase, no reconciliation call.
Three fields that change your risk position.
VIN-level location
Live GPS with a timestamp, per unit. Know which units are on the funded forecourt, which have moved site, and which left three weeks ago.
Live mileage
Real odometer readings, not dealer-reported figures. Catch demonstrator use and mileage creep the day it starts, not at disposal.
Ignition and engine status
See which units are genuinely sitting as stock and which are being driven. A funded car that starts every Tuesday morning is telling you something.
Digital coverage depends on manufacturer, model year and whether the vehicle's connected services are active. We run your actual VINs and show you the real number before you commit. Everything outside that number is covered by physical check.

Traknova does not remove your audit obligations. It removes the blind period between audits, and tells your auditors which sites and which units to visit first.
Funder Portal
One system. Two portals. Same stock.
TrakDMS gives dealers a full dealer management system and gives their funders a separate portal alongside it. The dealer runs their stock. You see the units you fund, updated automatically when their records change.
Your portal and theirs are separate by design. You see what you fund, they see what they hold, and neither has visibility of the other's wider position. Your live vehicle data comes from the vehicle to Traknova to you, so the independent layer of your audit never routes through your borrower's system.
Automatic stock updates
When the dealer marks a unit sold, moved or settled, your view reflects it. No report to request.
VIN-level funded position
Every unit you fund, its status, its location where available, and its verified physical check history.
Separate contracts, separate access
Funder and dealer contract with Traknova independently. Neither side controls the other's view.
The questions risk teams ask us first.
Vehicle stock audit questions
Send us 50 VINs. We will tell you what we can see.
No cost, no commitment. Pick 50 units off your funded book and we will return a coverage report showing which vehicles report location and mileage, what that data looks like, and what a hybrid audit would cost you against what you spend today.
